When drop-off works best

Four events we drop-off every week.

The 10-person floor

Most Buffalo caterers won't do this.

The Buffalo-area catering standard minimum is 30 people. That rule exists because a low minimum is harder to make profitable — which means smaller teams, smaller families, and smaller offices get turned away or forced to order food for people who aren't coming. The Mansard runs a 10-person floor on drop-off. Order for the group you're actually feeding.

Frequently asked

Drop-off catering, answered.

What is drop-off catering?

Drop-off catering is hot food delivered and set up at your office, home, or venue — no servers, no staff, no service fees. The Mansard delivers the food in chafers or platters, sets it up on your table, and leaves. You serve yourselves, and we come back at the end of the day to pick up the equipment. It's the most affordable way to cater any event in Buffalo.

What's the minimum for drop-off catering in Buffalo?

The Mansard's drop-off minimum is 10 people. Most Buffalo-area caterers require 30 people as a minimum. Our 10-person floor means small offices, family gatherings, and intimate events aren't forced to over-order.

How much notice do you need for drop-off orders?

Most drop-off orders need 24 hours of notice. For large or complex orders (50+ guests, multiple hot entrées, special dietary needs), we prefer 48 hours. Call (716) 828-1115 for rush orders and we'll tell you what's possible.

Where do you deliver?

Free delivery within 15 miles of our Orchard Park kitchen — covering Buffalo, Hamburg, West Seneca, Lancaster, Depew, Cheektowaga, Williamsville, Amherst, and East Aurora. Beyond 15 miles there's a $1.50-per-mile travel fee.

Do you include plates, napkins, and utensils?

Yes. All drop-off catering orders include disposable plates, napkins, cutlery, and serving utensils at no extra charge. Upgraded real plateware is available as an add-on for events where you want the finer look without the full staffed service.

How is drop-off catering different from full-service catering?

Drop-off catering is food delivered and set up without service staff — you serve yourselves, we come back later to pick up equipment. Full-service catering includes on-site chefs, servers, bartenders, setup, and breakdown. Drop-off runs $14.95 to $30 per person; full-service starts at $35 to $45 per person. Pick drop-off for office lunches, family gatherings, and informal events; pick full-service for weddings, ceremony receptions, and large formal dinners.

Can you drop off a catered lunch to a Buffalo office?

Yes. Drop-off catering is the most common request from Buffalo-area offices. The Mansard delivers free to downtown Buffalo, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, Larkinville, and business districts throughout Erie and Niagara counties. See our corporate catering page for office-lunch packages starting at $14.95 per person.

Do you handle special dietary needs for drop-off orders?

Yes. Gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options are available on every drop-off menu. Tell us your breakdown when you order and we'll label individual portions (for boxed lunches) or clearly tag each item (for platters and chafers) so your group knows what's what.

What if my event is outside the 15-mile free delivery zone?

We still deliver, at $1.50 per mile beyond the 15-mile free zone. The fee is quoted in your original estimate — no surprise charges. We regularly deliver to Lockport, Niagara Falls, Clarence, East Aurora, Grand Island, and elsewhere in the wider WNY region for a modest delivery surcharge.

Can you drop off for a funeral luncheon or a small family gathering?

Yes. Drop-off is common for both. Funeral luncheons under 30 guests often use drop-off service at a family home or parish hall — see our funeral luncheon page for compassionate packages from $12.95 per person. Small family gatherings (birthdays, engagement parties, small retirement celebrations) work the same way.

Can I order drop-off for a Bills watch party?

Yes. Bills watch parties at homes and offices are a major category of our gameday drop-offs — wings, sliders, pierogi, Italian sausage. Gameday drop-off starts at $22.95 per person. See our Bills tailgate catering page for lot delivery and stadium-suite options.

Do I pay on the day of the event or in advance?

Your choice. Credit card prepay at booking locks the date; day-of payment by card, check, or ACH is also fine. For corporate accounts placing 2+ orders per month, we offer net-15 invoicing — one monthly statement, one payment.
