Coordination

We work directly with your funeral director.

The Mansard regularly coordinates with Amigone, Lombardo, Castiglia, Dietrich, Perna-Dengler, and most other funeral homes across Erie and Niagara counties. If your funeral director has a preferred caterer list, ask them to add us. If not, we can coordinate setup, delivery, and service with the funeral home directly — you shouldn't have to be the go-between during this week.

Frequently asked

Questions we're asked.

Can you do a funeral luncheon on short notice in Buffalo?

Yes. The Mansard regularly handles 24-hour funeral luncheons across the Buffalo area. Call us directly at (716) 828-1115 and we'll work with you. We understand the compressed timeline that comes with a funeral and we'll do everything we can to make it simple.

Do you work with Buffalo funeral homes?

Yes. The Mansard regularly coordinates with most major Western New York funeral homes — Amigone, Lombardo, Castiglia, Dietrich, Perna-Dengler, and others. If your funeral director has a preferred caterer list, ask them to add us. Or we can coordinate setup, delivery, and service with the funeral home directly.

Do you cater at church halls across the Diocese of Buffalo?

Yes. The Mansard caters at church halls across the Diocese of Buffalo and the surrounding parishes. We handle setup, service, and cleanup so the family doesn't have to think about it.

What's included in a funeral luncheon package?

Our funeral luncheon packages start at $12.95 per person for a drop-off reception menu and go up to $22.95 per person for a full family-gathering menu with hot entrées, sides, salad, dessert, and two hours of staff service. Coffee, tea, and cold beverages included on every package.

What's your minimum for funeral catering?

The Mansard's funeral luncheon minimum is 15 people. Many funeral luncheons in the Buffalo area are small, immediate-family gatherings — we don't force you to over-order.

Can you cater a funeral luncheon at a Buffalo parish hall?

Yes. The Mansard routinely caters at parish halls across the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo — including parishes in Buffalo, West Seneca, Lancaster, Cheektowaga, Hamburg, and Orchard Park. We coordinate kitchen access, setup, and cleanup directly with the parish staff so the family doesn't have to be the go-between.

What's a typical headcount for a Buffalo funeral luncheon?

Most Western New York funeral luncheons run 25 to 75 guests. Larger services (100+) typically use a parish hall or banquet room; smaller family gatherings (15-25) often happen at a home or a private room at The Mansard. We scale staffing to match — 1 server per 25 guests for buffet, more for hot-service packages.

Do you deliver to Orchard Park, Hamburg, and West Seneca funeral homes?

Yes. The Mansard delivers funeral luncheon catering to funeral homes and parish halls across Erie and Niagara counties — Orchard Park, Hamburg, West Seneca, Lancaster, Cheektowaga, Buffalo, Amherst, Williamsville, and more. See our service area page for city-specific details.

Can you offer a dairy-free or gluten-free funeral luncheon menu?

Yes. Dietary accommodations are standard, at no additional cost. If any family members have allergies or dietary requirements, tell us when booking and we'll label individual portions or build a separate serving line so no one has to ask.

How do we pay for a funeral luncheon — is it invoiced to the funeral home?

Both options work. Some families pay The Mansard directly (credit card, check, or ACH on delivery); other funeral directors roll catering into the overall funeral services invoice and pay us on the family's behalf. We're flexible and we've worked with Amigone, Lombardo, Castiglia, Dietrich, Perna-Dengler, and others on both arrangements.

Can you coordinate with the funeral director so we don't have to?

Yes. Tell us your funeral director's name and contact info, and we'll handle timing, load-in, and service coordination directly with them. During the week of a loss, most families don't have the bandwidth to chase details — we take that off your plate.

What's the difference between your three funeral luncheon packages?

Simple Reception ($12.95 per person) is a cold-platter drop-off — sandwiches, salads, fruit, cookies, coffee — appropriate for smaller gatherings after short services. Traditional Luncheon ($16.95) is the Buffalo standard: roast beef on weck, Italian sausage, penne, salad, rolls. Family Gathering ($22.95) is a fuller experience with two hot entrées, dessert tray, and two hours of staff service.
